What happened in the last day-night test between India and Australia?
The last day-night test between India and Australia was in December 2020. It is remembered for the infamous 36 all-out as India was bowled out to their lowest total in Test cricket.
The match had begun with India getting to a respectable 244 in the first innings. In reply, Australia conceded India a lead of 53 runs, having bowled out for 191. The second innings of the test was embarrassing for India as Josh Hazlewood (5/8) ripped through Indian batting. With only 90 to get, Australia secured a comfortable 8-wicket victory.
What to Expect in India vs Australia 2024 day-night Test?
India vs Australia is arguably the biggest cricket rivalry. The fans are in for a treat when these two cricketing heavyweights lock horns in the day-night test at Adelaide, starting on 6 December 2024.
Rohit Sharma returns after missing the first test due to personal reasons, Virat Kohli is back in form and Yashasvi Jaiswal shining bright. India has an assured batting lineup heading into the contest. Pace trio have asserted dominance over the Aussies in their backyard and with Ravichandran Ashwin’s proven record with pink ball, India has all bases covered

On the other hand, Australia are banking on their pink ball track record and experienced bowlers. Aussies are a great exponent of pink ball’s extra swing and seam movement and present a new challenge before Indian batsmen. However, they will sorely miss Josh Hazlewood who has been ruled out with an injury.
One thing for sure, it will be a high-octane cricket contest between the equals. Make sure you tune in and witness history as it unfolds.
What makes the Pink Ball Test different from the Red Ball test?
Under lights: The traditional test cricket has always been played with the red ball (red cherry ball). The day-night test/pink ball test was played in 2015 to target white-ball audiences who enjoy watching cricket under lights.
No Draws: There has not been any instance of a drawn match in day-night tests thus far. All pink-ball tests have produced results.
Challenging Twilight Period: The players who have played in day-night tests often talk about how the transition between daylight and artificial lights proves challenging. During the twilight period, the batsmen often struggle with the visibility of the ball while the bowlers get more swing to pose threats to their counterparts.
PM XI vs India Practice Match Key Performances
India cricket team had thorough practice at a pink-ball warm-up against the Prime Minister XI at Manuka Oval. After a washed-out Day 1 of the two-day match, it was a 50-over-a-side match.
India would be pleased with performances like Harshit Rana’s 4/44, Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 50, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 45, Nitish Kumar Reddy’s 42 off 32 balls and Washington Sundar’s unbeaten 42. With much-needed practice, India looks sharp and acclimatized for the Adelaide day-night Test against Australia.

Indian National Cricket Team has scripted history Down Under, hammering Australia by 295 Runs in Perth. Under the stand-in captaincy of Jasprit Bumrah, Indian Cricket pulled off one of the most iconic overseas Test victories in the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
India vs Australia 2025: 1st Test Match Analysis
Captain Jasprit Bumrah put on an inspired performance, as he always does with the ball. The fast bowler claimed eight wickets in the match, including a five-wicket haul in the first innings.
India were battered in the first day of the Perth Test, having bowled out for a meager 150 to start the tour. Then Jaspirt Bumrah proved why he is the best bowler in the world, pegging Aussies back with a fiery spell of fast bowling.
It was one of the best bowling performances in an overseas Test by an Indian captain. Let’s dive into detail as the action unfolded on each day of the test match.
Day 1: India off to the worst possible start with the bat, Bumrah to the rescue
India was welcomed to Australian shores with a spicy pitch. India won the toss and elected to bat first in bowling-friendly conditions. In the first session, India were reeling and found themselves in a spot of bother. Eventually, India were bundled for a modest total of 150.
In reply, Australia too had some trouble coping with a lethal spell of fast bowling from the Indian pace trio of Bumrah, Siraj, and Rana. In particular, Jasprit Bumrah breathed fire to reduce Australia to 67/7 at the end of Day 1.
Day 2: Jaiswal & KL Rahul stitch together a record partnership
It was not long before India wrapped Australia’s first innings for 104 on Day 2. After the bowlers helped ICT get back in the match, the onus was on batsmen now to assert dominance over the Oz. The Indian opening duo of KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal frustrated the experienced Australian pace attack for the entire day and went unbeaten at the stumps on the second day.
Day 3: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli centuries put India in Driver’s Seat
India’s openers resumed from where they had left and piled runs. A record-breaking 201-run partnership between the two is the highest opening partnership by a visiting team in Australia since 1991.
Yashasvi Jaiswal (161) scored a scintillating hundred on his first test outing in Australia. Virat Kohli also racked up his 30th Test century to add misery for the hosts and bat them out of the match. The declaration came at 487/6d, setting Australia an imposing target of 534 runs.

The mighty Aussies faltered under pressure once again in the second innings. At the end of Day 3, Australia’s score read 12/3
Day 4: India breach Perth fortress, set the tone for BGT 2024-25 series
Australians started tentatively in the pursuit of 534 on Day 4 morning. However, the scoreboard pressure was too much and the Indian Cricket Team kept getting wickets at regular intervals. Baring Travis Head’s resistance, there wasn’t much to stop India as Australia eventually folded well short of the target.
5 Reasons India’s Perth Test 2024 Win is One of the Greatest
Historic Margin: It was India Cricket Team’s third-largest Test win by runs on foreign soil.
WTC Table Toppers: The win gives a huge boost to India’s chances of qualifying for the WTC final as they assert dominance at the top of the World Championship 2023-25 points table.
Rare Feat in Australia: Winning the opening Test of a series Down Under is indeed a rare achievement. The first test win in a series in Australia was last achieved by India during the 2018-19 series.
Comeback for the ages: Only once before had a team managed to win by a bigger margin after scoring 150 or less in their first innings — West Indies’ 343-run victory against Australia in Bridgetown, 1991.
India eye 3rdBack-to-Back BGT win in Australia
Most cricket pundits and experts doubted India’s chances at one of the fastest wickets (Optus Stadium, Perth) in Australia. India has defied all odds in the first test and with the return of regular skipper Rohit Sharma, there will be a confidence boost ahead of the second test.
Cricket fans around the world have been treated to a thrilling start to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and for sure there will be no dearth of entertainment further.

Warming up before a workout or performance is not just essential but a game-changer. It ensures injury prevention and peak performance. Whether you’re about to play sports, strength train, or engage in any physical activity, it is a must to limber up with a full-body warm-up regimen.
We have put together an easy 10-minute warm-up routine so that you keep injuries at bay and prime your muscles for maximum performance. Let’s first get to understand the need to warm up.
Why do you need a Warm-Up Routine?
Our muscles and joints are also at rest when we are physically inactive during rest, sleep, or commute. With warm-up, we activate muscles and joints, triggering the central nervous system to turn on. If we don’t get straight to intense workouts, we may strain muscles which can lead to injuries. Besides, warming up improves blood circulation and flexibility.
Take these steps to get your body ready for any workout. It is advised to perform each of the below-mentioned exercises for up to 1 minute in the same sequence.
1. Arm Circles
Extend your arms out to the sides.
Make small, controlled circles.
Increase the circle size gradually.
This helps loosen your shoulder joints and increase blood flow.
2. Hip Circles
Place your hands on your hips and rotate them in a wide circle, like a hula hoop.
Perform clockwise for the first 30 seconds.
Perform counterclockwise rotations for the next 30 seconds.
This will help open up your hip joints
This exercise is crucial before running activities.
3. Leg Swings
Hold onto a wall.
Swing one leg forward and backward for 15 seconds
Sing the leg side to side thereafter for 15 seconds.
Now, do the same with the other leg.
It is great to activate your hip muscles and improve mobility.
The Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 season has been nothing short of entertainment thus far. At mid-season, Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Bengaluru FC lead the standings with 17 points each.

Punjab FC: The Shers have been a revelation with local talents Leon Augustine and Nihal Sudeesh putting on impressive performances.
Jamshedpur FC: A promising ISL season so far with incredible resilience and comebacks.
Mohun Bagan Super Giant: Dimitri Petratos has hit form but there is a concern about consistency.
FC Goa: The top line looks good but the defense needs to do better to get results consistently.

Chennaiyin FC: Lacking creativity and as a result, there is a goal drought. Farukh Choudhary has hit form of late.
Odisha FC: Hugo Boumous and Diego Mauricio have been brilliant. The defense has been poor.
Mohammedan SC: Barring Alexis Gomez, the unit has not put in promising performances.
Mumbai City FC: The heavyweights have struggled and may find their feet if they are able to overcome defensive struggles.
Hyderabad FC: A couple of wins recently but other than that there were lackluster performances.
East Bengal FC: Winless so far! They need to regroup and do better at both ends of the pitch.

Stay tuned for real-time IPL 2025 Mega Auction updates and analysis as it unfolds.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) are building the side from scratch after the least retentions for any team ahead of the IPL 2025 Auction. However, they have the biggest purse and four RTM cards (the most for any team) which presents an excellent opportunity to put together a strong IPL 2025 squad.
Here’s a possible IPL Auction Punjab Kings strategy and five players PBKS could target.
1. Sam Curran
Sam Curran was the stand-in skipper of PBKS in the last IPL edition. Since Punjab has a lot of RTM card options, one of the most sought-after all-rounders in the auction pool may head back to Punjab Kings. If not in the leadership role, the England all-rounder still has a lot to offer.
Kagiso Rabada is a proven match-winner in the IPL over the years. The knack for picking wickets at regular intervals – whether with the new ball, in middle overs, or at the death – makes him such a rare commodity. With his RTM card, Punjab Kings will have a bowling spearhead in their ranks.
Liam Livingstone is one of the most destructive T20 batsmen. There are not many players in the auction pool who offer power-hitting like his in the middle-overs of the game. Plus, he is an ambidextrous handy bowler. His RTM card would allow PBKS to plug a crucial gap.

Punjab Kings have a lot to do on auction days. Punjab fans will be hoping that they use RTM cards wisely and on players who can make an impact in the upcoming 2025 IPL season.

PBKS Retained Players ahead of IPL Mega Auction
PBKS has retained two players – Prabhsimran Singh and Shashank Singh – spending a total of INR 9.5 crores from the auction purse.
The IPL auction for the 2025 IPL season is two days from now. Delhi Capitals (DC) have already made some major managerial changes, with Rishabh Pant and coach Ricky Ponting no longer running things. DC would look to make strategic decisions to bolster its squad for the forthcoming Indian Premier League edition. Here’s a possible IPL Auction Delhi Capitals strategy and five players who they could target.
1. Jake Fraser-McGurk
We witnessed Jake Fraser-McGurk’s explosive batting at the top of the batting order last year. Maybe the Australian batter wanted to go to the auction pool because of the price tag. Since DC has an RTM (Right to Match) card option up its sleeve, McGurk may possibly head back to the Delhi IPL Team.
Mitchell Marsh is another Delhi Capitals player who is a strong contender for the RTM option. First, the Australian T20 captain gives power at the top of the batting order. Second, he is captain material, and DC is looking for one. Third, he has proved his worth with the ball and gives balance to the side.

3. Mohammed Shami
After retentions, Delhi Capitals are short on Indian fast bowler stocks. Mohammed Shami is up for grabs and DC can look at him as their bowling leader. The experienced wicket-taker fits the bill for the Delhi IPL team.
Khaleel Ahmed was among the best bowlers in the DC ranks in the last season of the Indian Premier League. His release has come as a surprise to many but there is still a chance that DC will repurchase him with one of the two RTM card options they possess.

Mukesh Kumar is another who will be on Delhi Capitals’ radar. He has raised his bowling stocks with superb performances in the 2024 edition. If not Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar is an RTM option that DC can exercise.

Delhi Capitals have decided on an overhaul and IPL 2025 Mega Auction will be crucial for the side. If they are able to pull off most of the aforementioned acquisitions, they will be in a comfortable position to look forward to the 2025 edition.
DC has spent 47 crores out of the 120 crore IPL salary cap to retain four players. They are now left with a 73 crores auction purse for the mega IPL 2025 auction and two RTM cards.

DC Retained Players ahead of IPL Mega Auction
DC has retained four players – Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs, and Abhishek Porel – spending a total of INR 47 crores from the auction purse.
The excitement for IPL 2025 is building, and each team is making plans for IPL Auction 2025. Gujarat Titans have several gaps to fill in their squad. Fans are looking forward to GT think-tank to bolster IPL 2025 squad with explosive talent. Here’s a look at IPL Auction Gujarat Titans strategy and potential targets.
1. Ishan Kishan
Gujarat Titans are a little short on power at the top of the order and they would look to plug the gap with an aggressive wicket-keeper batsman like Ishan Kishan. The pocket dynamo also has a strong chemistry with Shubman Gill, and the two would form an incredible opening pair.
GT is on the lookout for a power hitter in the middle order, and who is better than Glenn Maxwell among those in the auction pool. This was another key area where Gujarat IPL Team lacked last season and it won’t be a surprise if they go for spin-basher and proven middle-order enforcer in Glenn Maxwell.

3. Sam Curran
Sam Curran could once again attract a hefty price tag at the IPL auction. Gujarat Titans can make a bid for the England all-rounder since they are looking for impactful overseas talent.
India’s premier wicket-taking fast bowler will be on the radar of most franchises for the rare left-arm swing skill he has. GT captain Shubman Gill may ask the think-tank to prioritize Punjab-teammate Arshdeep Singh’s acquisition.

5. Kagiso Rabada
Wicket-taking overseas fast bowler is another role Gujarat Titans will look at. With spotlight on the likes of Mitchell Starc, Marco Jansen and Trent Boult, GT may target the South African quick KG who is a proven match-winner and a wicket-taking machine.

If Gujarat Titans are able execute these acquisitions or manage to fill these crucial gaps, they’d be more than happy and would look strong as a unit to vie for another Indian Premier League title.
GT IPL 2025 Auction Purse
GT have spent 51 crores out of 120 crore IPL salary cap this edition on retention of five players. They are now left with a 69 crores auction purse for the mega IPL auction.
GT Retained Players ahead of Mega IPL 2025 Auction
GT has retained five players – Rashid Khan, Shubman Gill, Sai Sudarsan, Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan – spending a total of INR 51 crores from the auction purse.
KL Rahul-Goenka’s fiasco is still fresh in cricket fans’ memory but it’s time to move on. Now that IPL Auction 2025 is around the corner, it is a new start for Lucknow Super Giants. While they have announced retentions for IPL 2025 and Nicholas Pooran as the next captain, there are still key gaps that the side must look to fill at the Mega Auction on 24 November.
1. Phil Salt
One of the foremost concerns for LSG in the last edition was aggression and intent at the top of the batting order. They would look to rope in someone like Phil Salt who is fearless and in red-hot form. If they are able to get Salt, flying starts are guaranteed.
LSG is looking for not one but two opening batsmen and one could be an Indian batsman. Venkatesh Iyer fits the bill the best among those available in the auction pool. Besides stability and aggression, he also gives the option of handy bowling.

3. Marcus Stoinis
Marcus Stoinis should be LSG’s go-to pick for the Right to Match (RTM) card. Alongside Nicholas Pooran, Marcus Stoinis would ensure that there is no dearth of power in the middle order for the Lucknow IPL Team. And, the bowling option the Australian offers is a bonus!
LSG’s bowling attack would look formidable with the addition of New Zealand’s Trent Boult. The left-arm pacer has made himself a reputation as a powerplay wrecker. Lucknow is on the lookout for someone who can get wickets with the new ball, and Trent Boult is an ideal choice.
Death bowling is another key area LSG think-tank would look to address at the IPL auction 2025. Harshal Patel’s cricket smarts and knack for death bowling wickets would add immense value to Lucknow’s bowling lineup.
